Avoid toxin exposure while nourishing your skin with this easy DIY body butter
Easy to assemble using ingredients in your own kitchen, this natural DIY body butter works wonders on dry, irritated skin to rehydrate, relieve itching and help heal damaged tissues. It’s a great alternative to store-bought lotions that have parabens and other ingredients that are known to cause hormonal imbalances.
- ¼ cup coconut oil
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp baking soda (optional)
- a few drops essential oil (such as lavender, optional)
Melt coconut oil, then combine with remaining ingredients and allow to cool; apply to skin to moisturize, reduce itch and decrease inflammation.
This DIY body butter works great as a general replacement to store-bought creams that may have irritating chemicals or hormone-disrupting toxins. It can also be used for skin problems including acne, eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis – you may have to experiment with ingredients here to see which (if any) essential oils are helpful and not irritating.
